I teach Hatha, Yin, Restorative and chair-based Gentle Years Yoga in the beautiful city of Winchester, Hampshire, and between Alresford & Kings Worthy at Martyr Worthy Village Hall. I offer private one-to-one and one-to-two yoga in my Winchester home studio; in your home; and online with the private yoga recording for you to enjoy practising again later in the week too.

I look forward to welcoming you to one of my classes very soon so that you can experience the fantastic body-mind benefits that yoga can bring.

Hatha Yoga tends to be gentle with a series of warm ups leading up to static poses (Asana) which improve flexibility and bodily strength. A Hatha class offers a great body-mind introduction to yoga where you will learn how to stretch, unwind, and release tension. Students also work with the breath (Pranayama) as a preparation for relaxation and meditation.

Yin Yoga works at a deeper level in the body with longer-held passive stretches and poses, aided by different props such as yoga bricks and blankets. It targets the deep connective tissues: the fascia networks and ligaments, joints, and bones. Flexibility and joint mobility improves through fascia release. Yin yoga also reduces stress and anxiety. It is a wonderful restorative and balancing tonic for body and mind.

Restorative Yoga, combined with therapeutic breathwork, helps you slow down, relax and reconnect to yourself for a deeper body/mind opening. Soft fluid movement is combined with deeply held postures, often supported with props such as blankets and blocks. Over time you will notice what you’re sensing in your body; build self-compassion; and begin to experience subtle, yet powerful changes in your life.

. . . And I said to my body softly, ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath and replied, ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.’
